A good plasterer gives you flat walls and clean edges, which is the difference between a decent paint job and a poor one. We skim, patch and render, inside and out.
Plastering is the trade everybody notices only when it is done badly. Ripples in the wall, hollow patches, edges that are not straight. It is also the layer everything else sits on, so it is worth getting right.
What we do
- Skimming. A fresh plaster skim over existing walls and ceilings, including over artex once it is prepared properly.
- Patching and repairs. Cracks, blown plaster, damage after a leak, and making good after electrical or plumbing work.
- Rendering. Exterior render, repairs to existing render, and cracks that let water in.
- Making good. After a rewire or a new bathroom, somebody has to put the walls back. Usually us.
How long before you can paint it
New plaster has to dry fully before it takes paint, and it needs a thinned mist coat first or the paint will peel. Drying time depends on the thickness, the room and the ventilation, so it can be a few days or a couple of weeks. We will tell you honestly rather than rush you into decorating too early.
When it is ready, our painters and decorators can pick it straight up.
Damage after a leak
Water damage usually needs the leak fixed first. Our plumbers trace and repair it, then the plasterer follows. One company, one job, one invoice.

Usually yes. Artex can be prepared and skimmed over to give a flat finish. Where the surface is very heavily textured or unsound, overboarding is the better answer, and we will tell you which applies.
